Reflecting on Sam’s internship at Proctimise
At the start of September, we said goodbye to Sam – the second intern on our new scheme designed to introduce young people to marketing procurement as a potential career path.
Sam was an enthusiastic and reliable addition to the team, and whilst we were sad to see him go, we know he takes with him a wealth of experience, new skills and contacts.
Here is what Sam had to say about his time here at Proctimise…
I'm really grateful for my time here at Proctimise. From day one, I've been surrounded by a friendly, helpful and motivated team who were always happy to answer questions and share what they knew. The internship programme itself has been well-structured, with a good mix of hands-on project work and general admin duties. Coming into Labs, based right in the heart of Camden Market, has been a genuine highlight - it's a brilliant space to work from.
Day to day, I assisted on a range of projects for clients, which gave me a good feel for how varied the work in marketing procurement actually is. Alongside that, I helped put together the Proctimise newsletters, published blogs on the website and joined Aimee on in-person agency visits to help maintain Proctimise's client relationships.
I leave Proctimise with a much clearer idea of what a career in marketing procurement could look like, plus a set of practical skills. From refining my skills in Excel and learning how to prompt Claude effectively, to knowing when to speak up in a meeting and how to read the room in a professional setting. Juggling a few projects at once also taught me a lot about prioritising what actually needs attention, not just what feels most urgent.I'd genuinely recommend this scheme to anyone considering the industry, and I want to say a huge thank you to the whole team for making me feel so welcome, and specifically to Gordi and Ross for giving me the opportunity.
