Reflecting on three months at Proctimise
At the end of May, we said goodbye to Grace – the first intern on our new scheme designed to introduce young people to marketing procurement as a potential career path.
Grace was a fantastic addition to the team, and whilst we were sad to see her go, we know she takes with her a wealth of new skills and experience.
Here is what Grace had to say about her time here at Proctimise…
“Coming into Proctimise I had a considerably basic understanding of what marketing procurement consisted of. I understood marketing and I understood procurement, but had never heard the two combined before. This changed quickly! From my first few weeks, I was thrown into the deep end - getting to grips with the industry landscape, observing the full pitch process from start to finish, and joining Aimee on in person agency visits to help maintain Proctimise's client relationships. It became clear that marketing procurement was far more versatile than I originally assumed and that no day at Proctimise was the same.
Over the past three months, I have had the opportunity to contribute to a range of internal and external projects , from supporting with client work, to drafting case studies, creating the Proctimise newsletter, and working alongside the team's social media lead on content. A particular highlight has been attending my first ever industry conference, Marketing Procurement iQ, which broadened my perspective enormously - from the evolving role of AI to the wider conversations shaping the industry right now.
Beyond the work, I am fortunate to have worked alongside such a brilliant team of people who genuinely care about what they do and were always willing to share their knowledge and experience with me. One piece of advice I’d give to anyone joining Proctimise is to ask as many questions as you can, as working in the office alongside everyone has been an added bonus during this internship and made the time all the more enjoyable. I'm lucky to leave with a genuine understanding of an industry that I'd never considered before”.
